While working as a Chartered Accountant, Phil Edwards realised he enjoyed what he did which is helping business owners achieve their business ambitions. A few years following this realisation, he formed Vanilla Accounting in 2010. Phil has over three decades worth of experience working with various national and regional accountancy practices. While he loves his work, he also knows how to have a good time outside his profession. Besides spending time with his wife and three children, he enjoys playing hockey and tennis at local clubs. He is an avid Forest fan and rarely misses watching any of their games.
Senior Client Manager
Dan had an outstanding accounting career working predominantly in audit, after he graduated in 2006. Once Dan qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2012, he figured out what he liked and what he was good at which is helping small to medium businesses achieve their business goals. It was opportune for Vanilla Accounting when Dan joined as client manager in 2013 and since then there has been no looking back, as they say. When he is not peering at balance sheets or poring over financial statements, he is busy putting or driving on the golf course or chasing a ball at one of the local football grounds.
Rachel is AAT and part ACCA qualified, putting herself through these qualifications whilst working in local practices and bringing up 2 children. She prides herself on being extremely efficient, and, with great attention to detail and an approachable and friendly manner, Rachel enjoys building effective client relationships. She loves working under pressure and meeting deadlines. This energy means that when she is not in the office Rachel is usually found at the gym or out running, walking the dog or spending time with family.
Bookkeeping & Payroll
After working for accountants for many years Kelly found her passion for bookkeeping and put herself through studying to became an AAT qualified bookkeeper, she joined the team to further her passion.
Kelly strives to learn new ways of doing things and takes on challenges that are sometimes out of her comfort zone. With a methodical approach and positive outlook she thrives on seeing a job through to the end. When she’s not helping people she will be out training for her next race, at a Zumba class or spending time with friends and family.
Archie has recently joined Vanilla Accounting as an apprentice, and is studying for ACCA qualification. Archie is rapidly building a reputation for hard work, attention to detail and a high level of customer service and is a great addition to the Vanilla team.
When he is not in the office he enjoys spending time with his friends and at the weekend playing football for his local team.
Junior Accountants Assistant
Jenna has recently joined Vanilla from an extensive background in customer service and is aiming to study for her AAT qualification. She is extremely efficient and relishes the opportunity to go above and beyond for our clients.
When not at work Jenna loves spending quality time with her daughter, eating popcorn at the cinema and going on long woodland walks.
Client Services Coordinator
Helen joined Vanilla from a diverse career in both industry and education, where the overriding aim was always to provide the very best service, to her customers or students. When she is not providing support to the team at Vanilla, Helen keeps herself busy: whether it is walking her dog, looking after her family or volunteering with Nottingham Sea Cadets.
Beth has worked in a number of different roles and this allows her to bring a wide range of skills and experience to her role of Office Manager. Beth sees it as her mission to ensure that clients and staff enjoy working with and being part of Vanilla Accounting.
When not in the office she like nothing more than spending time with her family and friends and can often be found cooking up something tasty in the kitchen.
